Look to the sky

by Andrew

With the weather slowly warming up our mind naturally turns to summery thoughts, and for most people summer and sunglasses are inseparable. God forbid a single ray cross one’s eyes without adequate and stylish protection.

We have never been sunglasses fans due to the assumption of needing prescription lenses in them, it seemed more hassle that in was worth. But with the hope for another warm summer after the 3 awfully moist ones before the last, we have officially started the 2010 sunglasses hunt.

First some inspirational pictures from the past.

Jean Paul Gaultier (1990’s)

Vintage (year unknown)

Cutler and Gross x Comme des Garcons (2005)

Linda Farrow x Jeremy Scott (2008)

As you can tell we believe that sunglasses should be ostentatious and fun, and with reference to 1950’s post war prosperity we all should be bold and optimistic whilst struggling out of the recession.

Here are some current styles that have caught our eye…

Maison Martin Margiela

Giles Deacon x Cutler and Gross ‘Scooby’

Cutler and Gross x Erdem

Hankjobenhaven ‘Paul Senior’

Karen Walker

We are leaning towards a pair of the round Cutler and Gross’ at this moment in time, they have such an interesting shape, robust without looking awkward.

We shall keep you updated!
