Jil Sander SS 2012

by Andrew

When viewing the Jil Sander collection for the first time, besides the box pleated shorts, digitised snakeskin printed swing t-shirts and matching shoes, the thing that stood out most were the map case inspired … neck bags.

I think men have become tired and weary from schlepping around with the statement man bag, and if the clutch frenzy sweeping through Pitti or the rucksack renaissance is anything to go by, we are looking to carry less around with us in an easier way.

Enter the map case, which fit perfectly into the show whose overarching theme seemed to be ‘neo-goth goes orienteering’.

Keys, phone, small map. Done.
